Here's what some great Catholic writers are saying about
St. Albert the Great:
Champion of Faith and Reason
(TAN, March, 2011)
With his signature
conversational style, Dr. Vost weaves a fascinating portrayal certain to
rescue St. Albert the Great from the depths of obscurity. Inspiring
quotes, engaging anecdotes and a helpful series of "Great Ideas"
revitalize interest in the man who taught St. Thomas Aquinas.
--Peggy Bowes, Author of The Rosary Workout
A great book always offers something for the reader to learn; it engages, it enlightens, it entertains. Kevin Vost delivers all these things and more in his work St. Albert the Great. Vost is a master story-teller in this, his latest work, and brings St. Albert to life with relevance and clarity. St. Albert the Great is a “must-have” for every Catholic bookshelf.
--Cheryl Dickow, Bezalel Books
In this well-researched and beautifully written biography, Kevin Vost presents St. Albert the Great as a preeminent exemplar of expanding our minds to embrace wisdom; of understanding how faith and science work together; of training our souls to build virtues, especially humility; and of filling our hearts with love of God and all humankind.
--Bert Ghezzi, Author of Voices of the Saints
Dr. Vost reintroduces today's Church, under assault from the New Atheism and secularism, to one of its most outstanding champions - a man of action, science, and contemplation. He may be 800 years old, but Albert has more than enough punch to go toe-to-toe with the bruisers of today!

Dr. Kevin Vost’s books are always a great joy to read, they are enlightening, informative and accessible. His new book on Saint Albert the great will be a page turner, as they explore the life of this saint and open his life, scholarship and witness will become an example for our own times and lives. This book will educate and inspire readers of all ages.

Given Dr. Vost's demonstrated track record of systematizing difficult concepts in ways that can be understood by the rest of us, the only disappointment I have in regard to this book is that it wasn't published sooner. Hopefully readers will approach this work with the same kind of joyful curiosity that infected St. Albert; if so, they will no doubt walk away with a vigorous dose of the spirit of the Doctor Universalis himself."

From Tarek Saab:
Dr. Vost has provided a service to the faithful everywhere with this fascinating and edifying study of St. Thomas Aquinas's timeless memory techniques. The skillful accessibility of the lessons will surprise both young and old, while the intermittent anecdotes make this a page turner. A powerful resource, MTF is a must for any student of the faith. I strongly recommend this book!

Excerpts from Amazon reviews:
An Excellent Book, January 4, 2008
I highly recommend this book as a fantastic introduction to the memory technique of loci. The title is not an exaggeration...in two weeks I've memorized everything the author claimed I would...
They're
not teaching this in elementary school, middle school, high school, or
college...The vast majority of the population has never heard of the
loci method. But it is invaluable, and, most importantly, fairly easy...
If this
method was good enough for St. Thomas Aquinas, it's good enough for you!______________________________________________________________________
Fun and Edifying, September 12, 2006
This book is fun to read. The author comes across as brilliant, but has a wonderful ability to bring it down to my level. It's the best book I've purchased in a long time.
Outstanding!!, August 22, 2007
This
book is quite possibly one of the MOST important I have ever read. The
book has literally helped change my life in the two areas of
intellectual endeavor most important to me: my faith and music…
Well. A couple of weeks ago I happened across a review of this book in a
publication. I received it last week and just finished it. It WORKS! I
have memorized the faith that is for sure. (At least the portion of the
faith covered in this book!) Everything covered by the book I know by
HEART. I can recite the mysteries of the Rosary, forward and backward,
the 10 Commandments forward and backward. All of it. Memorized!
Does it transfer to other areas? OH YEAH!....WOW!...
A MUST BUY book for Catholics, and for ANYONE interested in committing
important things to memory. I wish someone taught me this stuff years
ago!
Nice to have, September 12, 2007
The memory techniques are good. But, even if you do not get to memorize the material, it makes a very good reference book
An unforgettable book!, July 28, 2006
I was somewhat skeptical this book could deliver the claims it made. I had read other memory books in the past and was unimpressed with the methods they proposed. There seemed to be something missing that kept me from fully realizing my potential. This book provided that missing part…
Mr. Vost writes in a breezy style that entertains while informing…. Even if you are not Christian, you should read and apply the methods taught in this book. ____________________________________________________________________
E-mail comment from a book store owner (11/23/07):Hey just to tell you a story about your book - My daughter(26yr old) read it and was able to memorize the 10 commandments, and much more about her faith. Her children are in the local Catholic School - Her daughter, a 4th-grader, was having to memorize the 10 commandments and was having a difficult time (because it was so-oo-oo boring - from the heart of a 9 year old) So my daughter got out the book and began to use it to show her how to memorize and make it fun. Well within 10 minutes she had them memorized and in 15 minutes could recite them backward. She sent her to school for her test and sent a copy of the book with her. Her daughter aced the test then gave the book to her teacher with a note from her mother in it that this was the method she used to help her learn. The teacher used it with the class - and within a few minutes had another totally separate topic memorized - she called in the principal and in front of her began another different exercise and the principal could not believe her eyes and ears. Well - we have sold 7 copies of your book in the last month!
